LINCOLN -- Duncan Aviation’s Component Repair Services continues to be recognized by the helicopter industry, experiencing more than 80% growth 2017.
Duncan Aviation has been servicing helicopter components for more than 40 years. Early repair and overhaul capabilities began with the Honeywell VG-14 H, C-14 D, and GH-14 gyros and have grown steadily ever since. In 2001, repair services for Northern Airborne Technology (NAT) avionics were added. And more recently in 2017, Duncan Aviation gained the exclusive repair service capabilities for the Avidyne 150 Traffic Display System and the expanded agreement with GE to begin repair capabilities on the 9000C and 9000F gyros.
Although Duncan Aviation has not always been widely known in the helicopter market, since exhibiting for the first time at HAI Heli Expo in 2016, things have changed dramatically.
“Rotary wing operators are beginning to take note of us and our quality avionics services,” says Kevin Miesbach, Duncan Aviation’s Avionics Component/OEM Business Development Manager. “While our name has not always been synonymous with helicopters as much as corporate jets, things are changing.”
Karl Detweiler, Manager of Accessory Component Business Development for Duncan Aviation, says helicopter operators have realized the breadth and depth of services available. “They have discovered we are a major service center for avionics and instruments, as well as accessories including starter-generators, fuel pumps, converters, and Nav equipment, radio and radar.”
Both Miesbach and Detweiler agree the rotor-wing industry is ready for another reliable components repair service provider that puts out a top-quality product that is backed by experienced technicians. Since the beginning of 2016, more than 29 new customers have turned to Duncan Aviation for their helicopter component repair needs, including some OEMs. According to Miesbach, “All indications say our helicopter component repair business will continue to grow as more discover what we bring to the table.”
