LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that Engine Shop Team Leader Taron Wissing has joined the company’s Gulfstream Airframe Service Sales Team at its facility in Provo, Utah. Wissing earned his Private Pilot’s license while still a teenager, and he’s been captivated by all things aviation ever since.
Growing up 30 miles from Duncan Aviation’s flagship facility in Lincoln, Nebraska, Wissing had heard about the company his entire life, and he had his sights set early on a career in aviation at Duncan Aviation.
After graduating from high school, he studied Aviation Maintenance Management for several years at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, earning his A&P license. He was hired as a summer intern in 2018 at Duncan Aviation, and he learned early on that the pride Duncan Aviation team members take in the quality of our work and the customer service we provide was something he fully embraced and was something he demanded of himself as well.
He started working full-time at Duncan Aviation in 2019, working as Lead Technician in the Engine Line department. In May 2021, Wissing accepted the position of Engine Line Team Leader and moved to the company’s full-service facility in Provo, Utah.
“I take great pride in knowing the teams I’ve worked on have been entrusted with the care and service of our customer’s aircraft,” says Wissing. “I am committed to providing the best possible experience from start to finish for our clients, continuing to build new relationships and maintain those I’ve already made, and helping inspire excellent teamwork among everyone with whom I come in contact with through Duncan Aviation.”
Manager of Airframe/Engine Service Sales Troy Nail believes Wissing’s combination of communication strengths and technical abilities make him a good fit for the new position.
“Taron has adapted quickly to each new position he’s undertaken here at Duncan Aviation, and he treats fellow team members and our clients with a respectful, professional demeanor,” says Nail. “We’re confident he’ll continue to serve our customers with the same attention to detail, enthusiasm, and level of professionalism that they’ve grown to expect when bringing their aircraft to Duncan Aviation.”
When he’s not training and taking on new roles at the company, Wissing is preparing for opening day of waterfowl season.
“It’s the best day of the year, hands down,” says Wissing. “This year, I’ve added my Golden Retriever Layla. She’ll be in training for a couple of years, but she is bound to be the queen of the marsh!”
Wissing has fully embraced all of the outdoor activities the Utah Valley has to offer, and during the summer, you’ll find him on the golf course, playing in the Duncan Aviation league from April to September, and in the late fall and winter, if there’s snow on the ground, he’s snowboarding.
