Operators of Learjet 35 and 55 series aircraft have had problems, over the years, with the Bendix General Control Unit (GCU) having intermittent or complete failure issues on the GCU P/N 2680014-8. Duncan Aviation technicians have indentified and rectified a possible fault in a few of the components in these GCUs.
Our experience has found that moisture in the unit was causing corrosion leading to the failure of the unit. Duncan Aviation developed a FAA-approved repair process that implements changes to seal and protect the internal components of these units, precluding any moisture build up that results in corrosion. This procedure significantly reduces failures and extends the life of the unit, as well as solves the troubleshooting headaches, of intermittent problems.
