NBAA Connectivity Subcommittee Wants To Hear About Your In-Flight Internet Experience

With regard to in-flight connectivity, internet experiences can be inconsistent from flight-to-flight based upon a multitude of factors. During one flight, passengers watching Netflix on their iPads may see an entire movie without interruption. On another, passengers may experience multiple interruptions resulting in constant buffering, apps timing out, and connections simply dropping.

In 2013, various CEOs met and discussed that their experiences for in-flight connectivity fell well below their expectations. With common problems identified, the NBAA formed a focus group in 2014 to discuss ways to improve in-flight internet functionality and reliability. Despite the fact that all aircraft are configured differently, the NBAA focus group tracked various operators and amassed a great deal of information in the past five years.

Made up of pilots, IT professionals, flight attendants, service providers, equipment manufactures, aircraft manufactures, and maintenance professionals, the NBAA Connectivity Subcommittee is again seeking participation from owners/operators to weigh in on ways to help passengers work through in-flight issues.
